McGuire is known for his original ‘gulf coast flavored’ songs ranging from country to calypso/tropical, folk and rock. Listening to his music one notices a Jimmy Buffett influence and Kelly readily admits, “after hearing Buffett sing about sailing and islands,  I dreamed of getting a boat and writing songs about that whole lifestyle” and he has done just that. His latest acclaimed release is called Boats in Belize.

When Christopher Colombus landed on the New World, the calendar the Europeans were using was actually less accurate than the one the Maya had already developed! Visiting one of Belize’s Maya ruins and learning about their civilization is an experience that should not be missed. A Video of the Tsunami Skydivers during Boogie in Belize 2007. Each year Tsunami Skydivers puts on this event, bringing hundreds of skydivers to Ambergris Caye for a week in February. Always popular, this event provides an opportunity for everyone to skydive, as the experienced divers from Tsunami offer tandem jumps for locals and other tourists alike. The purpose behind the Ambergris Caye Lagoon-Reef Eco-Challenge is to promote awareness, protection, and conservation of the mangroves, lagoons, reef, and diverse species that live in these beautiful natural habitats” says Elito Arceo, Race Chairman, Seaduced by Belize. “The race provides a fun way to help promote the conservation of the island’s natural beauty.” The course begins on the lagoon side of Ambergris Caye, and winds it’s way North, through the Bacalar Chico Marine and Wildlife Reserve (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), then down past Robles Point (where the teams camp for the night) and finally finishing it’s 42 mile course at San Pedro Central Park.

Challenge Participants were cheered to the finish line in San Pedro Central Park by the general public attending the 1st Annual Eco Challenge Block Beach Party, sponsored by the San Pedro Business Association. hdvundersea.com is built and owned by Wags & Kelly. They live on the Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia and created the website to allow fellow videographers to share their high quality 16:9 underwater videos with the world.

Six miles north of Halfmoon Caye, in the lagoon of Lighthouse Atoll, is the Great Blue Hole. The name alone will make it different from some of the other “blue holes” to be found in the Caribbean. This one is the largest, deepest, and most famous. Thousands of divers have made it the reason they have come to dive in Belize. This site was made famous by Jacques-Yves Cousteau who declared it one of the top ten scuba diving sites in the world. In 1971 he brought his ship, the Calypso to the hole to chart its depths.

The top edge of the Great Blue Hole is nearly 1,000 feet across and is ringed by fringing coral that makes for an excellent snorkeling adventure. The base of this fringing reef gradually slopes at about 40 degrees until at a depth of 50 feet it suddenly drops into the Great Blue Hole.

Swimming with Nurse Sharks at Hol Chan Marine Preserve/Shark Ray Alley just off Ambergris Caye. The Hol Chan Marine Preserve/Shark Ray Alley is one of the most popular diving/snorkeling sites in all of Belize. This is due to the close proximity of San Pedro, the large amount of fish life found with the Hol Chan “cut” accessible by snorkelers and beginning divers, the diversity of marine life encountered throughout the 4 zones of the park and the exitement and novelty of swimming with large numbers of nurse sharks and sting rays.
